Hey there! This week I am going to review a mobile app, Shadow Arc. Shadow Arc is a fast paced color matching game. The game is played on a circle in the middle on the screen where arcs go out from the center towards the outside of the circle, you have to block these arcs from exiting. There is a green and a red paddle which only blocks the same colored arcs. This game includes 75 levels that translate and increases in difficulty and tuneable music. Methinks this game is really fun and the idea is really creative and original. The amounts of arcs, the rate they come in, and the patterns they’re in can overbear you many times, so this game can be really challenging at times. The layout of everything and the colors they chose for this game are proper. As I said before this game can be challenging, but also relaxing and would be a great game for a sojourn you always want to try to get a better score. After playing this game for a while I have a better wit of my reaction speed and concentration. I think this game still has space to waxen. That’s it for this week, see you next time!

Translate: transform, change, alter

Tuneable: tuneful, musical, melodious

Methinks: it seems /seemed to me/i think

Overbear:  overwhelm, overcome, overpower

Proper: good-looking, handsome, comely

Sojourn: travel, journey, go to stay

Waxen: increase, grow

Wit: intelligence, wisdom, good sense, mental ability

Hi everyone, this week I’m going to review another video game, but his week’s game is a bit different it is a strategy game, 2048. The game is played on a 4×4 grid, you start with two tiles on the grid either a 2 or a 4 tile. You can combine tiles by sliding all the pieces on the grid up, down, left, or right. Only tiles with the same number can merge into one tile with the value of the previous tiles. The tiles can combine only once each turn, so if there were four 2 tiles lined up they can’t combine into an 8 tile, but hey can combine into two 4 tiles, then combined again on the next turn to get an 8 tile. Tiles glow slightly more and more as they increase in value. 2048 is a single-player online game created in March 2014 by a 19-year-old Italian web developer Gabriele Cirulli, the objective is to slide numbered tiles on a grid to combine them and create a tile with the number 2048. Gabriele Cirulli created the game in a single weekend as a test to see if he could program a game from scratch, and was surprised when his game received over 4 million visitors in less than a week, especially since it was just a weekend project. He released a free app version of the game for iOS and Android in May 2014. I think this game is really fun and quite challenging, making it a great game. Come back again next week for another blog post, bye!

Hey, I’m back with another review. This week I’ll be reviewing a video game, this time it’s Ghost Recon Phantoms. Ghost Recon Phantoms is a third person shooter game developed by Ubisoft. This game has been recently released after eons in its beta testing phase when it was called Ghost Recon Online.

To begin with Ghost Recon Phantoms is a third person shooter, which means the angle you see is from behind your character. In this game there are three main classes. First there is the assault class, this class can suppress enemies to allow your team to advance through hardened enemy positions. The two special abilities this class has is Blitz and ADS, with blitz you knock down your enemies with speed and the force of the combat shield, which also provides passive protection while you run, ADS or Active Denial System suppresses your enemies with microwaves which cause damage over time and prevent them from using their weapons. As a result of this combination of abilities the Assault class is a close combat tank who is not very easily killed and can take objectives well. The next class is the Recon class, you gather intelligence and use stealth to outsmart the enemy and protect your team. This class has Scan and Cloak. Scan can detect enemy units across the battlefield and temporarily reveal their location to your teammates, even through walls. With Cloak you blend into your surroundings with active camouflage and render yourself nearly invisible. This combination of interesting abilities lets you pick off enemies from a distance and also let you flank them to capture points. The final class is the Support class, the name of this already explains what this class can do. The first ability is Active Protective System, this basically Deploys a temporary small sphere around you that can block bullets protecting you and your allies. The second one is Blackout, you disrupt your enemies with an EMP blast that not only depletes enemy devices, but also briefly disorients them. The support class can be used as a support as it was made to be, or used as an aggressive close combat fighter using the Active Protective System.

This is a fairly simple game to play, the main objective is to capture points spread out all over the map before the enemy team does. In some game modes you have to defend points and the opposing team has to capture all of your points. After playing this game I would give it a 7 out of 10 because the weapons you can buy with real money are too strong compared to ones you can buy with in game currency. If they balanced the weapons in this game I could possibly give this game a 9 or 10 out of 10, because it changes the game immensely. Check back next week on my blog for another review. See you later!

Hey, today I am going to review one of my favorite video games, League of Legends or LoL. LoL is under the genre of multiplayer online battle arena. LoL was released on October 27, 2009 by Riot Games. LoL was the most played game in North American and Europe in 2012, since then the game has grown and now LoL is the most played online game worldwide.

To begin with LoL is a game where players choose and control a champion then matched in a   player versus player battle. There are 118 different Champions from which to choose. Players gain levels from killing the opposing team’s Champions and minions that regularly spawn and attack the other team’s turrets, minions, and champions. The classic game mode has three lanes, commonly called the top lane, mid lane, and bot lane which are paths that minions take, the jungle is an area of the map between lanes where neutral monsters spawn, and bases are where players spawn and can purchase items. Each player earns a small amount of gold every second passively, on the other hand they can earn more by getting the last hit on minions, destroying enemy turrets in the lanes, killing neutral monsters in the jungle, and killing enemy champions. With this gold, they can buy many items to make their champions stronger. Finally, after taking down all the turrets in one lane the champions can end the game by destroying the enemy team’s last building on the map, the Nexus. At the end of games you are awarded Influence Points (in game money) with this you can buy champions each one has their own special abilities and play style, so you can buy the ones you like playing.

LoL is constantly being patched, improved, and changed. Every year a new season starts, at the start of every season the developers of the game change how items work, how much they cost, what should be on the map, and other things that would change the gameplay. There are also always new champions that come into the game every so often as a result of that the gameplay and strategies being used are constantly being changed by the players.

I love to play League of Legends, the main reason people like me don’t get bored of the game is probably the changes that they make every year and new champions. I also play because I can play with my friends that are far away. I would recommend this game to anyone who likes to play video games on PC because it’s easy to learn and the community is helpful and friendly. Come again next week for another review. Bye for now!

Hey guys I am back, and today I am going to review Pepsi. The past few weeks I have been researching how Pepsi impacts the environment, animals, and humans in positive and negative ways. I love to drink soda, so the information I found out was quite shocking. Pepsi was first called as “Brad’s Drink” in New Bern, North Carolina, United States, in 1893 by Caleb Bradham, who made it at his drugstore where the drink was sold. The name was later changed to Pepsi Cola, named after the digestive enzyme pepsin and kola nuts used in the recipe. Caleb Bradham wanted to make a drink that tasted good and would aid in digestion and boost energy. Some good things Pepsi is doing are developing a plastic bottle completely out of plant materials which is renewable, using delivery trucks that run on electricity, and they stopped testing on animals. This is all good; I would drink Pepsi if that means I am supporting all these good things, but the main problem in Pepsi is the actual drink, not the company.. Inside of Pepsi there is high amounts of phosphorus in Pepsi can cause calcium loss and lead to weaker bones, which leads to diseases such as osteoporosis. The biggest ingredient in Pepsi is sugar. In every 20ounce bottle of Pepsi there is 70 grams of sugar. If these high amounts of calories are not used it can lead to weight problems and other diseases. I love to drink sodas, but after looking at this I might change my mind, I will probably drink Pepsi again but not as much. See you next week with another review. Bye!

Hi! This week I am going to review a movie I recently watched, The Lego Movie, Directed by Chris Miller, and Phil Lord. I think this was a well-made movie from its marvelous animation to the interesting characters in the movie and a surprisingly thoughtful story. When I first heard about The Lego Movie I was thinking of a funny movie without a very important story line that focused more on making hilarious jokes and fascinating scenes with cool things made out of Lego, but I was wrong. The movie was funny, they had lots of cool things made out of Lego, and it had a deliberate story line that had a meaning. This movie is appealing to both children and adults, mainly because both of them have probably played with Lego before, but also because of the brilliant actors that the older viewers are familiar with in this movie such as: Morgan Freeman, Will Ferrell, and Liam Nesson. The 3-D animation is just  amazing they were able to make Lego look like water it flowed through rivers just like normal liquids but they were solids, this was a really big part of why I thought the animation was simply wonderful. This is a great animated family movie to watch it is really funny, and entertaining. I would recommend this movie to anyone because I think everyone wants to laugh and have fun. See you next week with another review of something cool, I will be posting new reviews every week on Saturdays. Bye!
